Back when I was in my mid twenties… about 35 years ago… there were a series of events that changed my life. One of them was a seminar I attended.
I was running a business, working a full time job and had no time for anyone or anything at the point in my life. My wife and I had been consuming some wellness products for a year or more that had really improved our lives.
We were impressed enough to squeeze out the time to drive four hours… so we could attend an event to learn more about the product, the company that produced the products… and the business… as we heard there was an opportunity.
The main speaker was a strong woman with a strong European accent. She had built a large business with this company which was a Food Producer that chose Network Distribution to market their products.
There was no beating around the bush when it came to talking about the business with this woman… and that was just what I needed that day.
She asked us three questions
1) If you won one million dollars, how would your life change? (in 1985 when one million dollars was a lot)
We couldn’t say that we would pay off our bills etc… the answer she was looking for was ‘how would our life change if we didn’t have to work any more or worry about earning money.’
2) The next question was – what would you do… if you found out that you only had six months to live? (We could keep the money)
It didn’t matter what we did…we were going to die. The purpose of the question was to think about all the people we would spend time with… things we would do… and the things we have been putting off in our life… because of the lack of time… and the lack of money.
3) The last question was – if these things meant so much to us… why weren’t we been doing them already?
When the subject of money comes up… most people will try to avoid talking about it. When they go through this exercise… they usually admit that the lack of money and time have been holding them back.
She also did this exercise where she asked us questions about our work, businesses etc… and if we felt we were helping people or not… and about our dreams. She was quick to call us out on our answers if we weren’t being honest with ourselves.

There were a few of us squirming in our chairs that day. The funny thing was that I was actually angry about it for a week or more… before it hit me… that she simply exposed my delusion.
Why do we hang on so tight to what is familiar when it usually isn’t serving us at all?
After a week or so though… I realized that she was right and I was not living my life the way I wanted it to be.
How many people today… whether they are just getting started, middle aged, or retired… can say they:
-have inner peace
-are earning enough income to own a home and be comfortable
-have the time to enjoy their life and the people they love
-are doing something where they can make a difference
-are genuinely happy
That is why many of us chose Network Distribution… so we could have a life!
Like any business…. it isn’t perfect…
it’s just better… and I hope you will join us!
